We focus on attractive lower middle market businesses that are fundamentally sound. This is the area of the market where we believe the most opportunity to implement our investment strategy exists. In addition to the company characteristics below, the ownership transition and expectations are equally important to us. We are truly looking to partner with existing management teams and owners to take their companies to the next level and substantially increase value. Prior to close, we make a conscious effort with owners and management teams to ensure they embrace us as their new partners, and we make sure we will have solid working relationship to build upon.

Company Characteristics:

EBITDA of $3 to $20 million for initial platform, add-ons of any size
Niche manufacturing, business services, and value-added distribution businesses
Operate in defined market niche with defensible and above average margins
Experienced management teams with strong equity alignment
Strong organic and/or acquisition growth potential
Types of transactions include:
Prefer change of control situations
Private companies in need of an ownership transition
Corporate divestitures
Special situations such as minority/majority recapitalizations
